Now, how to reach the town of Hvar from the mainland?

(Avoid the connection to island of Hvar via
shortcut – Drvenik - Sucuraj, as there is no bus going
to the city of Hvar from this part of the island).

  • The most convenient way is to take one of the catamarans in Split: KAROLINA (11:30), ADRIANA (15:00), or KRILO (17:00). (Split-Hvar is 1 hour trip).
  • Alternatively, there are ferry boats departing from Split to Stari Grad. From the ferry port a public bus provides shuttling, about 15 min. drive to the city of Hvar.

  • From Dubrovnik to Hvar, the direct connection by boat occurs only twice a week, whereby, the bus connection via Split is very frequent – there are daily bus rides, (about every 2 hours Dubrovnik - Split).

  • The island of Korcula is connected to Hvar from Vela Luka and the town of Korcula by catamarans: KRILO or ADRIANA, both going early morning (on a daily basis).

If you contact us, we will send you the actual boat schedule!

The 2 ways to our house (just a 5 min. walk):

  1. From the boat landing place of the town of Hvar harbor:
Turn left as you get off the boat and walk along the harbor for about 90 meters passing the Pizzeria MAMA LEONA. After another 15 meters, facing the cafe SANTA BAR-BARA, turn right and follow the path alongside the SPLITSKA BANKA till you reach a narrow street. Here on the left you find the restaurant JUNIOR, in front of which a pedestrian lane climbs up the hill for about 90 meters (passing JAZZ Bar on your left and 2 small alleys on you right). After arriving at a small plateau, turn right and walk up the alley (about 30 meters) and follow this street as it turns left. Soon you will face a fork in the street: choose the way to the left going up to another plateau. Next to KONOBA KACI you see the black metal gate on your right - which is the entrance to our place - Welcome!!!

  2. If you arrive to town of Hvar by bus from Stari Grad:
Head for the main square (about 50 meters from the bus station). There turn left; pass the bell tower and the church front to the other corner of the square. Turn left again and walk into a narrow alley flanking the church. After about 20 meters, take the first steps on your right up to the konoba LUVIJI. Continue walking up another 10 meters passed this restaurant, keeping it to the right.
Soon you face a wall with a big tree showing from the other side of it, with a narrow set of steps on the right side. Take these steps and climb up around this tree. At the top of these steps, you find another narrow alley. Make a left here and in just 10 meters you see an alley on your right.
This alley with its steep steps leads you up to our house on the top end of it.
When you finally reach the plateau, you see on your right a black metal gate, - the main entrance of our place - Welcome !!!

Please print our city map; it will help you, even easier find our place. Keep in mind that our house is within the pedestrian area (walking up the hill) and - if you cross a car street - it means that you have already missed our house.

It is not so difficult to get to us by car:

From Stari Grad ferry port, follow the signs to Hvar (~ 10 minutes drive continuing after the tunnel).
When you see the sign “Grad Hvar” and the scenery of the city of Hvar, continue to drive straight down the hill for about 300 meters till the first 4–road intersection.
At this point, keep driving straight into a smaller one way street, passing the Brodomerkur shop standing on your right along with other new buildings. Continue driving some 200 meters further, and look for parking possibilities, as soon the cypress trees start to show up on your left.
Stop here, try to park, and walk down the pedestrian lane for about 50 meters. Wellcome!!!

(You might ask for Konoba Kaci, which is next to us.)
