What the hack is blogging?

Hi to all,

the response I got after I started not long ago to post on our www.house-zakaria.con/blog  makes me think what ideas have I awoken in others … maybe not intended… but any way, it is grate to hear peoples feedback.

At the moment, I see the intention of the blog – to write about local issues of interest … means- bringing Hvar to you.

Can it be more than this? Hvar is a tourist destination and all its magic lasts a short time … in summer the miracle of beauty pops up, then comes the autumn and the magic is gone with the first rain.

writing about Hvar is one thing, experiencing it your self is another thing – I might tell you this or that, but it is your presence that counts.

Hvar is a place to stay… but you first have to look where to…

Hi, whoever is trying to make reservation in a Hotel, Hostel or Guesthouse in Hvar town might have trouble at the moment to find something available. I am a local inhabitant so I can make suggestions of where you could stay or give you details of other hostel.

But why don’t you try internet booking? Hvar Hotels have good websites – try, you might find a vacancy there. Private accommodation is also an option – sometimes the best. Among them you will find something for any budget.

From Split to Hvar for the price of a Hamburger.

The connections to Hvar from Split, Dubrovnik, Korcula or Rijeka, all work well. See for more details at: www.Jadrolinija.hr and www.house-zakaria.com

Jadrolinija boats go quite often, yet internet ticket booking for local connections doesn’t work … your only choice is to buy it on the day of departure – just buy it as early as possible on that day.

From Split the most convenient way to get to Hvar is by Catamarans – tickets place is at the Split harbor.

From Split there goes ferry as well  (6-7 time a day) to Stari Grad on island of Hvar. If you don’t have a car, than use it only as an alternative connection. The tickets for ferry you can  get at the same place like for the catamarans.

From Dubrovnik to Stari Grad ( on island of Hvar) the ferry goes only twice a week. Therefore we recommend everyone to take a bus going frequently to Split.                                                                                                                            – WARNING- don’t use the shortcut from Drvenik to Sucuraj (on island of Hvar), as the bus to Hvar town goes only twice a week – therefore we recommend you to go till Split -from there the connections to Hvar are really well organized.

My land is your land… your land is my land… from…

Long ago, one of our guest said to my mom, ” Hvar is the place from where God surely started to create the world”. Can I deny it? No, I cannot.

Well, I actually love to travel and see all the other beautiful places, but I cannot do always as I wish. So it happens that I stay here and meet the world, as all people come here for a visit.

We all feel joy to see nice things and places. Some of it some day might become my or your  homeland. What is a Homeland? It possibly is a place our heart loves to be.

For the Creator of all of the World, happiness might possibly be, to see us World-travelers enjoying and appreciating it.

If I did come to the point, well than I can now proudly show bit of this beauty, by posting some nice picture of Hvar. See and think twice, if you can beat me!
